This has not been a very good weekend for me: I got hurt and discouraged, and I’ve been struggling to renew my mind and tune in to the truth that I am very loved by God. I am grateful for Dina my classmate and my aunt for being there for me just to hear me out and assure me that it’s OK to be upset sometimes.
I also gained awareness about a greater truth that enabled me to go one step further in the realm of the supernatural.
The 1a.m. band just came back from a worship conference in Singapore and they shared with us some of the things they picked up at the conference.
DId you know that genes and music are linked in a way we are just beginning to comprehend? Susumo Ohno, a respected geneticist, invented a system to convert repetitious parts of the genetic equation into musical compositions. When he encoded the DNA of a cancer cell into notes, it actually became Chopin’s Funeral March. Wow. Other encodings produced tunes similiar to those of famous composers like Brahms and Bach! This just tells me that our human creativity actually stems from our creator, who wove creativity into our being!
“Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his heavenly hosts. Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars. Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for he commanded and they were created. He set them in place for ever and ever; he gave a decree that will never pass away.” (Psalm 148:1-6)
“Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths, lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding, you mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds.” (Psalm 148:7-10)
“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” (Isaiah 55:12)
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” (Psalm 19:1-4; cf. Psalm 97:6)
“Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20)
If all His creation responds to Him, how come humans, His supreme, most prized creation, like me, find it so hard to do so? Why is it we are deaf and blind and numb towards His presence and majesty around us? Why is it that most of us live in a dead religion? What song do we sing–a cancerous one, a sad one, a boring one, or a one full of life?
Lord! Free me from my suppression! Free me from my fear! I want to proclaim and shout your praise and majesty, because You are the one who holds the universe in Your hand. I want to voice out your word boldly to myself and to others because there is infinite power in Your word… I do not want to be silenced…so help me God. And thank you for helping me believe with all my heart that the supernatural is right here in our midst…waiting to be discovered. Amen.
As I have come to believe strongly, what matters is not who you are, but who God is. I’m glad to hear that you want to see more things of God, and make no mistake: the more you yearn for, the more you SHALL have! Amen!
Yes, it is okay to be upset at times. I feel low in spirit (as in low, not lowly nor humble) but y’know, true worship is when you still lift your hands and praise Him and sing to Him, even when you are upset or the circumstances seem bleak. You worship in spirit and in truth, not in feeling or blessings.
God bless!
low in spirit at times* (accidentally dropped two words)
ya, dun ever worship when u ‘feel’ like worship. Dont believe in your feeling, because feeling has it own ups and downs. Worship Him whether you feel His presence or not, believing that He is always be with you!
God Bless You!
-Let everything that has breath praise the Lord forever!-
Wow…this gene thing is great! Wonder what’s woven in our genes…hehe….:)….will keep u in prayer my dear.
